Laverne Cox
Laverne Cox is well recognized from her role in the series “Orange Is The New Black” from 2013. That had only been the beginning as she started playing multiple characters in series and film, adding to her repertoire. “Orange Is The New Black” allowed for her to be nominated as the first trans person for an Emmy Award in a category.
Laverne expressed how she felt that her journey wasn’t all about her, that it was bigger than her. She was encouraging multiple icons to follow.
