The Repercussions Were Not Pleasant
Like boiling a frog slowly, Manny’s controlling behavior took over Amy’s life without her fully realizing the extent of it. If Amy did (or said) something that he didn’t approve of then he would call her names and shame her. Admitting that Manny called her “names and stuff” all the time, Amy’s confidence took a knock. Slowly, Manny chipped away at her self worth. However, rather than take the emotional abuse, Amy decided to take matters into her own hands.
