The Pied Piper
Whatever happened that developed into the Pied Piper myth. The earliest entry in the Hamelin town chronicles in 1384 which states: “It is 100 years since our children left.”
But other than that, there is no consistent agreement on what happened that caused the children to ‘leave’, whether its a metaphor for a plague or something else.
