Intrepid Potash is a fertilizer manufacturer based in Denver, Colorado that is also the largest producer of potassium chloride. To produce their chemical products, they use evaporation ponds, which appear a bright blue color due to the presence of copper sulfate, which is added to the water to speed up evaporation processes.
