In 1974, Chinese workers stumbled upon a remarkable discovery while digging a well – thousands of terracotta clay figures dressed for battle. Known as the Terracotta Army, this awe-inspiring army was found near the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, the First Chinese Emperor, and in 1987 it became a registered UNESCO World Heritage Site.
