New Dead Sea Scrolls Found in Israel
The Israeli Antiquities Authority made a surprising discovery during an extensive exploration of the Judean Desert when they uncovered new fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls – the first of its kind in six decades. These pieces contain excerpts from the book of the twelve minor prophets and form part of the Minor Prophets scroll that was found in the early 1950s. This noteworthy find has survived for thousands of years, primarily due to the warm, dry conditions in which the fragments rested.
