“City of Giants” Unearthed in Ethiopia
Through local legends about a “city of giants,” archaeologists set out to investigate an ancient site in Harlaa, Ethiopia. What they found on their expedition was an abundance of archaeological evidence pointing to this city having been a bustling trade hub between Asia and East Africa. Artifacts such as rock crystal, glass vessels, glass beads, cowry shells, carnelian, and pottery from China, India, and Egypt were discovered, leading the researchers to conclude that the city was truly a cosmopolitan destination.
