Medieval Well Found While Renovating a Home
As they were trying to determine the cause of the slant in their living room, a British couple made a truly remarkable discovery! Beneath the floorboards, they found an ancient thirty-three-foot-deep well dating back to the medieval era. It was constructed in the 1500s as part of an aqueduct system set up by Sir Francis Drake, stretching from Plymouth to Dartmouth. The homeowners then sealed the well with a trapdoor and illuminated it to showcase their extraordinary find.
