Gold Coins Found Inside Piano, England
When Bishops Castle Community College sent an old piano to be repaired by a tuner, no one was expecting a massive hoard of gold he found hidden inside it. The 913 coins, thought to be worth up to $600,000 altogether, had been concealed there by a former owner who never returned to retrieve them. Due to the discovery being classified as “treasure” under Coroner’s Court of Shrewsbury, the College and tuner were able to split the proceeds.
