Super Long Hair Was Very Trendy
Everyone seems to be going for a shorter hairdo like a long bob or a pixie cut these days. Let’s face it, they’re a lot easier to maintain. But in the ‘70s, some women loved flaunting extremely long, silky smooth and flowing hair that would give Rapunzel a run for her money.
Tight Tank Tops Were the Norm
You didn’t have to look hard to find women rocking some floral tight tank tops and daisy dukes, like this gal who pulled a supermodel pose while she sat on top of that sports car. Given that she was probably in her 20s, this lovely gal is probably a grandmother by now!
A NYC Subway Ride Was a Wild Ride
Unlike today’s modern subway trains, the ones in New York City in the ‘70s looked pretty rundown. There were no security guards anywhere in sight, and they were really dirty, with graffiti on the walls and trash scattered everywhere.
And yet, schoolgirls still rode them to school and on their way home because they were completely unfazed.
Hitchhiking Was a Mode of Transportation
Although hitchhiking is not something every woman feels comfortable doing in today’s era, in the ‘70s it was one of the easiest ways to get from one town to the next. In fact, a lot of free-spirited teens and young adults would wave their thumbs at a passing car in the hopes of a free ride.
