Handwritten Note
They ordered farmhouse breakfasts and large cups of coffee. As Liz prepared their bill, an idea struck, and found herself writing something extra on that same piece of paper. She even drew a cartoon of an ax for fun.
When she came back to clear their table, she placed that bill face down at the middle of the table and walked away. When Paul turned it over to see how much their tab was, instead of reaching for his wallet, tears began to well up in his eyes.
