When I was in high school I really liked this girl. Once at a party, we were talking and my friend came over and told me loudly, “She wants to make out with you”. I saw her nod in response but I was so embarrassed that I laughed and then left.
A few months later, she was asked to prom by some other dude. She turned him down and then asked me to prom. We went together.
