His eyes scanned the area, looking for any sign of Carol as he sat patiently in the airport. They hadn’t seen each other for weeks, and he was eager for her to arrive.
In spite of his anticipation, Robert could not shake the feeling that he looked suspicious. With his sharp features and gruff demeanor, he had always been an intimidating figure, and he worried others might view him in that light.
He knew himself, he knew that other people’s opinions didn’t matter.
