Kristy strapped herself into her daughter’s car as they drive home from lunch. She told Melissa that she’d picked up her savings in a cheque and that the amount was enough to redo their home and sustain them for the rest of their lives.
She looked inside her bag but couldn’t find the cheque. Her heart nearly stopped as her stomach dropped. She didn’t know where the cheque had gone.
