Tom took drastic measures
Tom moved across the country a week after making the decision and admitted he hadn’t looked back. He even went so far as to have his friends transport him so that it could not be traced. He wanted to hide as much as possible from Dani, and his plans for this included marrying someone else as soon as possible.
