Looking for Sotheby’s
When this jeweler told the lady that the ring may be a diamond with some monetary worth, she knew just what to do. She then made her way to Sotheby’s, a prestigious London auction house, to inquire about the ring’s actual worth. In terms of the ring, it was the smartest thing she’d done thus far. According to Wyndham, “they came in with the sense that it may be true.”
They did not recognize its worth. No one could have foreseen what they would find. Obviously, after bringing the ring into Sotheby’s for testing and assessment, they took a significant step forward in their quest to learn the truth about this cherished piece of jewelry. The fact, however, was that the ring was so unique and difficult to come by that not even Sotheby’s could have sold it without some assistance.
