Determined To Succeed
Josh was determined to succeed in it, because it was the key to his future. He had been seeking employment for years. After living on the streets for so long, he tried to live the life he always envisioned for himself. It was his way of doing things.
His only hope was to do it himself since no one would give him a chance. As a result, he put all of his energy into his task, and it appeared that he was succeeding.
He expected it to take much less time than it did.
