The dog didn’t run away. To his surprise, it didn’t move towards him either. Instead, it took a step back and sat down, almost as if it was waiting for Tom to make the first move. Tom slowly backed away, not wanting to turn his back. He was about to run back into the safety of his house when he noticed something peculiar about the dog.
