Peyton put up 33 passing touchdowns, 16 interceptions, and 4,500 passing yards with a 68.8 completion percentage to lead the Colts to a 14-2 record in 2009. But Drew Brees had more touchdown passes (34, leading the league), fewer interceptions (11), and the league’s highest completion percentage (70.6) and best passer rating (109.6). Brees, whose Saints went 13-3, fell shy of Manning by 112 passing yards but did so on 57 fewer attempts.
