As suspected, the cashier gave her a weird look. “It’s for a friend,” Lily said sheepishly and looked around, hoping nobody she knew was around.
“That’s what they all say,” the rude cashier responded as she bagged the boxes. Lily gave her a mean stare and darted for the door. She had to get home now.
